Raf Simons, the minimalist hermeticism of a trip to the Sun
Raf Simons' post-apocalyptic SOLAR YOUTH army on David Bowie's notes for the Fall Winter 2020 collection
It would seem that this year the Raf Simons Fall / Winter 2020 men's collection shows on the Sun. In reality, it is the great halle of a film studio at the gates of Paris, à Ivry-sur-Seine. The industrial space, immersed in a diaphanous and yellow artificial light, reproduces a tunnel of sunlight in which an airtight collection, with XXL volumes, made up of synthetic tweeds, fur and transparent plastic garments and moon boots is paraded. The post-apocalyptic army of SOLAR YOUTH, whose silhouettes remain faithful to the geometric rigor of Raf Simons, discreetly parades on the notes of a version, if possible even more visionary and intimate, of David Bowie 's Space Oddity.
