<a href="https://annasui.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anna Sui</a> ’s fall/winter 2025-26 show , presented on the third day of <a href="https://www.lofficiel.com/fashion-week/veronica-leoni-reinvente-la-sensualite-minimale-de-calvin-klein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Fashion Week,</a> offered a stark contrast to the uniformity that often takes over contemporary fashion. True to her unique world, the designer drew inspiration this season from 1930s screwball comedies, including Bringing Up Baby , her signature film, whose pet leopard inspired the animal-print shoes. The era’s eccentric heiresses, such as Barbara Hutton, Doris Duke and Peggy Guggenheim, also fueled her imagination, infusing the collection with a glamour tinged with audacity. There were revisited retro silhouettes, such as a floral lamé dress reminiscent of 1930s cuts and a copper pleated ensemble worthy of Fortuny. But <a href="https://www.instagram.com/annasui/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anna Sui</a> doesn&#39;t just appeal to those nostalgic for the past: echoing the younger generations who hunt for and reinterpret vintage, she offers an eclectic approach to style, where strong pieces are integrated into a game of unexpected superpositions . Layering then becomes the key element of this abundant collection, combining fluorescent Fair Isle with green lace, lamé brocade with micro-stripes, zigzag tweed with wallpaper-style floral prints, and an omnipresent touch of leopard. All of this is enhanced by vintage-inspired jewelry, designed by her long-time friend Karen Erickson of Erickson Beamon, and by oversized glasses in the style of Peggy Guggenheim. Once again, Anna Sui proves that she is inimitable, far from any standardization.
