It has become apparent that streetwear is no longer a trend.  It is a staple of communities within and outside of the fashion realm alike.  It is a statement that is demonstrative of the strides made in fashion evolution, on and off the runway.  Zadig and Voltaire showcase the seamless integration of athletic leisurewear into the mainstreet of high fashion culture in their new Fall 2019 line, which perfectly bridges the gap between NBA and NYFW.

Zadig & Voltaire, known for its mission to redefine modern femininity, featured both men and women in their designs on the runway this season.  The playful use of metallics, furs, and comfortable leisurewear, sometimes all in the same outfit, demonstrate a lightness to the brand’s image, in stark contrast with the oftentimes all too serious fashion personas featured prominently during fashion week.

Other notable pieces in the collection included floor length sequin gowns, neutral monochrome hoodie-sweatsuit combos, classic checkered suits, cozy cut out sweaters, black backless dresses, pleated pinstripe pants, and enviable amounts of knitwear.  A fan favorite was a deconstructed Lakers logo knit sweater with ever trendy fringe spewing from the iconic basketball trademark’s center.

Despite Zadig and Voltaire making the brave venture into the significant but often overlooked streetwear realm, they still remained true to the fancier elements of the brand’s style, with suits and even bowties finding their way into the eclectic array of styles.
