French fashion entrepreneurs: Fran&ccedil;ois-Henri Pinault

Fran&ccedil;ois-Henri Pinault is one of the most important French fashion entrepreneurs ever. Born in Rennes in 1962, son of Fran&ccedil;ois Pinault, founder of the PPR group later renamed Kering. Since 2005, Fran&ccedil;ois-Henri Pinault has held the position of chairman and chief executive of Kering, in addition to being the president of Groupe Art&eacute;mis since 2003. It is precisely under his leadership that the Kering group began to focus exclusively on the luxury fashion houses, progressively abandoning all brands dedicated to sport and retail distribution. In June 2013 the decision to change the name of the group: from PPR becomes Kering to honor the Breton origins of Fran&ccedil;ois-Henri Pinault, being that &quot;Ker&quot; means house in the popular language of the region. Among the luxury brands in the Kering stables today we find many important names in fashion, including Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Brioni.

LVMH President and CEO Mo&euml;t Hennessy - Louis Vuitton , Bernard Arnault is perhaps the best known worldwide among French fashion entrepreneurs. Born into a family of industrialists in Roubaix in March 1949, Arnault trained at the &Eacute;cole Polytechnique to quickly become an engineer in the construction company Ferret-Savinel: here, after several promotions, he became President in 1978. His career, already well started, sees a turning point in 1989, when it takes control of LVMH Mo&euml;t Hennessy - Louis Vuitton. Having become CEO and President of the company, Arnault thus gives momentum to the luxury group, ensuring that the French maisons are the leader in the sector. Also president of the administrative council of Groupe Arnault SE, the family holding company, was appointed Grand Officier of the Legion of Honor and Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters. Today the LVMH group Mo&euml;t Hennessy - Louis Vuitton has several luxury brands, including Dom P&eacute;rignon, Mo&euml;t &amp; Chandon, Louis Vuitton, Loewe, Berluti, Loro Piana, Fendi and Givenchy, just to name a few.

French fashion entrepreneurs: Alain and Gerard Wertheimer

Co-owners of Chanel, Alain and Gerard Wertheimer have inherited from his grandfather the dual empire C. was poprio Pierre Wertheimer founded the fashion house along with <a href="https://www.lofficielitalia.com/moda/coco-chanel-storia-moda">Gabrielle Chanel</a> back in 1913: in 1971, the disappearance of the genius designer, the maison continued to propose the same models designed by Coco until, in 1983, Karl Lagerfeld arrived as creative director. Today, the role is in the hands of <a href="https://www.lofficielitalia.com/moda/virginie-viard-chanel-successore-karl-lagerfeld">Virginie Viard</a> , Lagerfeld&#39;s historic right-hand man and the natural heir of the Chanel style. The Wertheimer brothers , known for their reserve, today oversee the management of the brand with results that are nothing short of excellent: in 2018, after 108 years of history, the maison&#39;s first financial report was published with a turnover of 9.3 billion of dollars.
