Haute-Couture: the documentary that provides a glimpse into Christian Dior's world

The 1947 story behind one of the leading fashion houses in the history, told in its own words by Monsieur Dior.

'Whatever you do - whether for work or pleasure - do it with passion! Live with passion, 'French Monsieur Christian Dior once wrote. The couturier, best known for his eponymous fashion house Dior, takes us back in time in a new documentary to 1949 and tells in his own words about the creative process behind his prestigious Haute Couture .

With the founding of his House in 1947, Christian Dior took the first step in turning his dreams into wonderful creations. Thanks to his unique vision on clothing, he accentuated the feminine beauty ideal in his collections. After the launch of his Carolle fashion collection in the spring, also known as New Look , there was a reason for talk about a revolution. He saw the talent of couturiers as a wonderful gift. "They are, in a way, masters of dreams," said Monsieur Dior. And maybe that's how you feel after watching the documentary.

Haute Couture, directed by Henri A. Lavorel in 1949, who, like Dior, also reveals the secrets of 30 Avenue Montaigne, is already available on YouTube.
