Freddie Hunt, son of famous Formula 1 champion, James Hunt, lives for car racing. Now, he has also been announced as the new Ambassador of F1 Fragrances. Here is in a conversation with L'Officiel

Celebrities' children curse&nbsp;is not commonplace. Most of the time, bearing an important surname becomes more of a burden than a boast. In fact, it happens that the shadow of the famous parent hangs over the future of the child, relegating him to the banal role of " the son of ... "
This is certainly not the case with Freddie Hunt. Son of the famous James Hunt, winner of the 1976 Formula 1 world championship. Freddie, despite the extraordinary physical resemblance to his father, has very specific ideas: &ldquo; I admire my dad's work and stubbornness, he was a proper character. But I am me" Born and raised away from the spotlight, Freddie's first love was not cars, but horses: "My grandmother and my mom have always been equestrian. I grew up playing polo &rdquo;he says&ldquo; I didn't approach the racing world until I was nineteen. That was the moment I experienced the pressure of being Hunt's son. The whole world watched me and compared me to him. It was not easy, I didn't know my dad's success, glory and fame. At first, the idea to run in Formula One, then the decision to devote himself to the GT championships" I'll be honest, initially my intention was to race in Formula One, but I realized I was already too late and there was already a Hunt that belongs to that world. I realized that my path was different, I'm happy I made this choice. I love&nbsp;sports cars' rush of adrenaline, I can't wait to go back to racing on the Virginia Raceway, my favourite track. "

As opposed to what people might think, Freddie Hunt seems to be far from his father's enjoyable and viveur character, he rather appears closer to a new conception of the pilot.&nbsp; "&nbsp;I'm quite shy, I like being alone, that's why I love living in the middle of nature&nbsp;." And it is right in the middle of nature, exactly in beautiful&nbsp;Patagonia, that Freddie has lived through numerous cathartic adventures, which have made him the man of today: &ldquo;&nbsp;I was alone, together with my tent and my horse. Patagonia is a magical place, it is difficult to explain the feelings you feel while crossing those desolate lands. It wasn't easy; one evening I had to face a storm, fire and the loss of my mare, a nightmare! (laughs) But it was worth it, nature still has too much to teach us, we should all live immersed in it for a while.&nbsp;" 
It may be for this reason that Freddie now lives on a farm in Scotland "It was love at first sight, I was taking a trip with a friend of mine and I found this house for sale. I thought, it's crazy but I do it."

Upstream, optimistic, courageous, Freddie perfectly embodies the new image of today's driver. Perhaps, for this reason, he was chosen to be the face and ambassador of the new F1 Fragrances. The first collection, Race Collection , is made up of five fragrances inspired by the world of racing, perfect for all lovers of perfumes and cars. &ldquo;It goes without saying that I am honoured, but I really am. I like the energy of this new brand, it is a real adventure and above all, it is a great move of courage to create something from scratch, especially in times like these. F1 Fragrances is a project that developed in the midst of the pandemic, it was a brave undertaking&rdquo; says Freddie.
 &ldquo;Wearing perfume is an extremely personal gesture. The smell enters the sphere of memory, indissolubly linked to reminiscences. The scent of your loved ones, of the wheels on the asphalt, of home&hellip; &rdquo; And the scent of your home?&nbsp; &ldquo;Oh, it's a farm scent (laughs)&rdquo;. And what about victory? " Champagne !"

Between his new role as F1 Fragrances ambassador and car racing, Freddie Hunt also found time to be the protagonist of another story, the one between himself and the son of the famous driver Niki Lauda, Mathias.&nbsp;
Ttwo young drivers are working together on a Formula 1 docufilm &ldquo; Mathias and I met years ago, both invited to a race in the Emirates. We chatted a bit and sharing a similar past it seemed like a good idea to tell together this story. The docufilm was shot during these past years and will be done shooting in a couple of months&rdquo;&nbsp; May the friendship between Hunt and Lauda continue with a new generation? &ldquo; Absolutely! We find each other well together, we always have a lot of fun!"&nbsp; Born to race, it seems like Freddie Hunt has no plans to stop. And the last race of his life? Riding a horse or behind the wheel? &ldquo; Behind the wheel, always and forever! "
